Kitchens and Cabinetry questions, answered
How long does a kitchen renovation take?
Most kitchens run three to five weeks on site once materials have arrived. Stone benchtops add about a week between template and install. Cabinetry lead time before we start is usually four to six weeks.
Can I use my kitchen during the renovation?
Not the kitchen itself. We usually set up a temporary bench, kettle and fridge elsewhere in the house. Plan on eating out or cooking simply for a few weeks.
Do I need a permit for a kitchen renovation?
Not for a like for like replacement. You do if you are removing or altering a load bearing wall, changing the building footprint, or in some cases moving plumbing significantly. We identify it at the quote.
Do you handle the plumbing and electrical?
Yes. We bring in licensed plumbers and electricians and coordinate their timing. You get certificates of compliance for the work at the end.
Can you just replace the doors and benchtop?
Yes, and it is often the smart move. If the carcasses are square, sound and in the right layout, new fronts, handles and a benchtop transform the room for far less than a full renovation.
